Guided walk in Cwm Orthin.

On 5th May 2011 Steffan Ab Owain led a group of around twenty people around parts of Cwm Orthin, Tanygrisiau. This was a joint meeting of the Society’s members and members of Cymdeithas Hanes Beddgelert. Steffan was an excellent leader, full of information, history and legend which he delivered bilingually at well-spaced vantage points, usually when the walkers were ready for a breather! He shared the memories he had gathered from local people who had themselves or whose ancestors had farmed, quarried or lived in Cwm Orthin. We all enjoyed our picnics when we reached the now roofless chapel. Some then proceeded further, but most returned with Steffan.  The weather was dry and neither too hot nor too windy.
